I'm what you might call an old school beauty therapist and have been since qualifying over 3 decades ago!
Over the years I've worked with different waxing methods and products and now following many years of client feedback too, I find the traditional spatula method is still the method that works the best.
If you didn't know already I do offer the full range of waxing treatments, with clients who receive a regular full leg and bikini wax and clients who attend for lip and brow waxing.
Check out my Treatment Pricing page for my full list of waxing treatments.
The Don'ts of Waxing
Sometimes referred to as contraindications, there are some things I advise my clients before a waxing treatment to ensure that the skin is protected and the treatment is as effective as possible.
No direct sun to the skin or sunbeds 24 hours before or after the treatment.
If you suffer from any skin complaints or have a skin infection, the skin will need to be fully cleared/healed before a wax treatment is considered.
Medication and Health Conditions. Some health concerns and medications might mean that waxing is not appropriate for you. I always ask my clients about this on booking.
For effective removal leave hair to grow for 2-3 weeks.
I'm also often asked how long will the waxing treatment last following waxing...
Most magazines will say 6 weeks, but I would say in 3-4 weeks you'll notice the odd hair coming through, which is moving you towards your next wax treatment at about 5-6 weeks.
Everyone is unique and our hair grows at different speeds and thickness, but you'll get to know you're own waxing needs very quickly.
The Do's of Waxing
Following the treatment you'll enjoy silky smooth skin thanks to this method of longer-term hair removal.

Skin will also feel revitalised as the treatment helps to improve skin texture through its natural exfoliation. And because waxing is gentler than shaving the risks of cuts or rashes are removed.
Waxing also encourages a more even hair growth which minimises sometimes painful ingrowing hairs.
New to Waxing or Want to Pick it Back Up?
The other question I get asked a lot is of course... Does It Hurt? This is tricky to answer... if I said 'yes initially, but it's worth it' does that help?!
The lovely warm wax is applied onto the skin, and then I remove the wax using strips. Removal is performed very quickly, so it feels more like a very brief burn/tingling sensation that goes within seconds. My clients keep coming back so I would say it's definitely something you forget about once it's done.
